What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My husband and I had been talking about collaborating on a series for awhile. We love old folktales and wanted to see how the creatures from those stories of old would stack up in an urban setting. Like how does a troll interact in civilized society when they've historically lived under bridges terrorizing people? And what social prejudices might still linger even after decades of reform? Then what happens when an every day woman is suddenly thrust into this world and realizes these mythical creatures are real after all?
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
There are so many sources to draw from in life. The lead, Lanie Alacore, is a little of both of us put together. Many characters create themselves as we are writing, though we do always try to understand their background, motivations, mannerisms, etc.
